Criminal and Credit Check?

Greetings! Here is a bankruptcy question I found when I was looking at Yahoo.
How long does it take for employer to make a criminal and credit check? I was told I will get a call the next day after it’s cleared and today is the 2nd day and still no call. I know my criminal record is crystal clear but my credit is kind of bad since I had trouble paying on time due to job loss and student loan on hold. Is that the factor behind not getting a call so far? Is time to panic??
What a great bankruptcy question. Please visit us frequently for more questions and great answers.
Have a productive day!

Not yet. It is has to do anything with state/city employees handling this, it could take up to a week or even 10 days. If your criminal record is fine, there is nothing to worry about. As far the credit check goes, some employers do care a great deal about it. Considering the economy, lack of jobs and income issues, they should be a bit more tolerant. Unless you have defaulted on some serious stuff, bankruptcy or collections, there is nothing to worry about. Good luck with the job!
